Quick and effective training on 09-3D tamping simulator
Plasser Far East, along with TWA (Malaysia), offers operator training on the 09-3D tamping simulator, in connection with an off-board ALC. The training offer is intended for groups of up to six people and scheduled for a fixed period of five days. The training facility is conveniently located in the Bangi district of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The training sessions are conducted by certified Plasser Far East instructors.
Our tamping simulators are modelled after real Plasser & Theurer tamping machines. They use the control system of a “real machine” and virtually simulate all necessary actuators, such as hydraulic cylinders, units, measuring trolleys, servomotors etc. The control systems, therefore, react in the same way as they would in the real machine.
Particular importance is placed on the three-dimensional external view of the virtual machine. At any time, the trainee can switch from the 3D cockpit view to the external view, in order to take a close look at the machine, the position of the components and the tamping units. A high-performance computer system is used to enable all these features. Several computers are used for visualisation and to calculate the views of the various displays in realtime. The largest displays have a screen diagonal of 84”. The main screens in the cabin use “head-tracking”, enabling the movements of the operator’s head to be recorded and his field of view to be changed correspondingly.
